


Patriarch Athenagoras Award For Distinguished Metropolis Service
The National Forum of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians awards the Patriarch Athenagoras Medal to individuals who have made exemplary contributions to church music in their Metropolises.
This Award is a means of giving recognition within an individual Metropolis to persons whose Metropolis-wide contributions to the music ministry of the Church are worthy of this distinction. The recipients shall have significantly contributed talents and/or service to the development and perpetuation of the choirs within the Boston Metropolis served by MBFGOCM. By so doing, these individuals shall have fostered the aims and goals of MBFGOCM and the National Forum. The Patriarch Athenagoras Award consists of a medal specially designed for the National Forum of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians and shall be given to each Award recipient.
The candidates shall:
St. John of Damascus Award
This Award is given to a person who may or may not be a member of the Metropolis of Boston Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians and who has made valuable contributions to the development and enrichment of our Greek folk music and/or the music of our Church, or who has contributed significantly to the advancement of our choirs. Every year at the conference MBFGOCM will present this honorary member award. Choir members who are dedicated can be nominated.
The final decision will be made by the executive board.
